Power 90 - Day 19

In the books!! Long week. Extra midnight shift, yesterday was rest day from workout but spent it pulling radiator out of red car. So not much rest this week.
Workout today wasn't bad and pushups went better. Does anyone else have an issue with resistance bands? I can't seem to get "even" length on two handed exercises. On the single arm ones I don't know if I'm getting same resistance every time. I guess I could mark it with a Sharpie. Might have to buy some free weights in time.
Ate HORRIBLE last night. I haven't been super strict but here's a hint. When on any kind of diet, stay away from anything named Monte Cristo!!!
Yea yea, I'm a foodie so I knew exactly what I was getting and don't know why I did it??!! Oh well it's done so now just gotta "uneat" my way out of it this weekend.
Remember, even on the tough days, JUST PUSH PLAY!!

Power 90 - Day 16

Hell yea bitches!! Pushed play and did not have to push pause during the workout.
Power Yoga still sucks!! This "bunny" ain't got enough hops!! My TH100 AB routine is more like the TH75. LOL
Having said all of that, getting better. One day at a time is where it's at! I will get it done. It feels good and it's working. Heaven knows I need sine thing to go right.

Power 90 - Day 15

IN THE BOOKS!!!!

It was a crappy workout. 3rd shift hours throw my eating off. Had to work out before lunch was settled. Ate too much. Lots on my mind; money, work, kids, my future...all taking away my focus.
Having said that, at least I worked out. Going to eat healthy for dinner and go to work tonight.
I guess there will be up days and down days...but gotta keep pushing play!!

Power 90 - Day 14

Sweat 1-2, Day 14 in the bag!!! Only had to stop once. Power Yoga still kicks my ass!! What a puss I am LOL!!!
Felt really good, and dare I say FLEXIBLE today. Even when I took Tae Kwon Do 3 days a week I struggled with flexibility.
Still can't do Bunny Hops for entire time but felt better today. Kept moving more than usual.
AB routine is 10 exercise with 10 reps each. Today felt better and got all 10 reps for first 3 exercises then fell apart. Still got 5-8 reps on remaining but need to push myself harder.
I WILL PUSH MYSELF HARDER!!

Power 90 - Day 13

So I was pondering "effort" and results and my previous post regarding "girl" pushups. I am doing all the reps but ultimately I am cheating myself.
When I went to bootcamp I couldn't climb the rope. I also couldn't do that many pull ups. But thru repetition and focus, I could do them all very soon.
I have made so many excuses about getting in shape and so many other things that this becomes another. So no disrespect to girls or anyone else that HAS to do pushups like that - BUT THAT IS NOT ME AND I WONT CHEAT MYSELF ANYMORE.
Going into "gym" now to just push play, then I'll have my protein shake, then get ready for work.
DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO TO GET THROUGH WHATEVER YOU'RE FACING!!

Power 90 - Day 12

Yesterday was Day 12. I was trying to use some "fuzzy math" to account for the 4 days I missed when I got "off track". I have decided to just tack those on to the end. Trying to fit them in or skip a rest day is just a pain.
Things are getting easier and I am seeing some changes. I must admit that I am doing "girl" push ups for the workouts. A debate may ensue as to what it means when a guy does "girl" pushups. Boy, if my Marine buddies could see me now!! But in my head it is better to do all the reps than to cheat the reps I foresee being able to do real pushups in a couple of weeks. Am u cheating myself?
Eating much healthier and eating 4 to 5 small meals per day. 90% if it is super healthy. Lots of raw veggies and rice and lean meats. I am supposed to cut out all alcohol but did have a few beers last week. I also had pizza out the other night but did drink a couple of Michelob Ultras so very few calories.
I am tracking my weight and obviously am dropping just from better eating habits and regular workouts. At the end of the 90 days I would like to be about 30 lbs lighter. We will see where I end up.

Power 90 - Day 12

I gotta tell ya, that Tony Horton guy was a "bastard" today!! Doing well and staying with it. I did have way too many "calories" in multiple forms this weekend, but what the hell. I've already survived boot camp so I'm not gonna be hard on myself.
Sticking with it is the key!! JUST PUSH PLAY!!

Power 90 - Day 11

Getting ready to "throw down" with Tony on Day 11. No abs today so I won't feel like a complete wussy when it's over. Feeling good and can feel some changes already.
Spent way too much time last night researching Shakeology vs. other meal replacements/supplements. Going with RAW Meal I think so will probably start a separate thread on that with my observations.
Bought a decent whey protein mix at Walmart so have that for post workout. Gotta talk advantage of every trick to help these old bones get changed.
Okay enough chatter, gotta "just push play"!

Changes begin...Power 90...Before!!

So in the words of Big Tim..."I got the talkin part done!". As I grow older obviously it's harder to stay in shape. Then again it's harder to stay in shape, regardless of age, when you do nothing about it.
To that end, it's time to do something. I have been talking about joining the P90X rage, but it was all talk. Finally acquired, Power 90 from Beachbody. It is the predecessor to P90X and man am I glad I started here. Still getting my butt kicked and don't think I would have been able to start with P90X and have done it right.


Here are my stats at the starts., I'm not obese, but I'm not a 22 yo Marine anymore either. I love to cook and eat and that's "no bueno" in the long run. I blame my Grandmother!! LOL! We will see how I "measure up" at the end of the 90 days.


I really should have looked at my hair before taking this picture. Then again hair is easy to fix and a haircut takes minutes. Fixing the rest will take a bit longer.


And finally, the obligatory side view. Oh my, yes I need work!!

Am posting this on what should have been Workout Day 10, but is actually going to be workout Day 5. I got a bot derailed this past weekend but have refocused and will get back on it. I will try and post here every day. Probably boring for anyone but me, but will help keep me focused.

Of course, this is a multi-faceted blog so other subjects may be inserted as well.
